The more good-natured jokes feature Tenferthers accidentally putting the whole eggshell in the spread and eating it all without complaint. Mean-spirited jokes involve the Tenferthers impassively eating stones, chicken feathers, nails, and other appalling substances that somehow got mixed up in the spread.
