In the wake of the Saint's War, Dyrwoodan mobs, particularly in rural areas, sought to kill all followers of Eothas. Beginning in the town of Cold Morn, which was said to have permitted Waidwen's forces to pass through without resistance, Eothasians were hunted down, tortured, and murdered in the streets.
